Ruth Edge Qualifies Seven for Winter Dressage Championships (7th, March 2011) It was ‘mission accomplished’ for 4* international event rider Ruth Edge at the North West Winter Dressage Regional, as she secured seven Winter Championship qualifications for her four horses. Ruth, who is supported by Equine Products UK, finished in the top three of every class she entered. In the medium open, she took the top two places, the 7yo British bred Charlesfield Dante (72.25%) ahead of her own Zero (70.99%), before contesting the advanced medium open where Ruth’s Shadowfax secured an emphatic win with 72.89% ahead of Zero and Charlesfield Dante in second and third places respectively. Shadowfax went on to win the Prix St Georges music freestyle (PSG), his score of 74.42% over 7% clear of the field. A third place in the elementary open for 6yo British bred stallion Mister Maccondy, the current 5yo British Eventing Champion, ticked the final box for Ruth. Ruth uses the highly specified supplements SelenaVite E and FlexiVite HA for all her horses and said, “They are all very fit and well. I was especially pleased to finish first, second and third in the advanced medium as only three qualified and I really was thrilled with Shadow in the PSG music. I suppose those were the highlights, but they were all good and I was delighted with all the percentages. Ruth, who has won 37 classes from 52 starts in the dressage arena during the last year, is now aiming to compete Shadowfax, a German bred 9yo by Sandro Hit, at PSG level, whilst at the same time planning the start of the eventing season!
